    This motor is 700 bucks cheaper then the closest brand name motor if you go out here and there its the perfect motor if you boat alot then your better off with a suzuki .i bought this for my sea eagle 10ft inflatable.and i dont beat on it and it has worked perfectly fine. rule one ditch that chinese spark plug for a ngk or champion. .number 2 wax the pull start string but the most important thing is to break in the motor dont go full throttle for the first few hours and change the crap fuel lines with the tygon yellow hose.

      I’ve since traded that Forester in for another Forester. I do recall that if the turn signal is on for a long period of time, it did start to hyperflash. They are also extremely bright and my wife convinced me to not install them in my current Forester because when you open the tailgate at night they flash twice and it’s painful on the eyes…. Yes, they are that bright! Definitely gets the attention of drivers behind you on the interstate, day or night. Thanks for watching, hope it’s been informative.👍👍

    • @toyotabrony

      @@BoilerDan1 there’s better options u can get for less bright. Try Auxito amber led 54H. 5.5W. Not as bright as with a built in resistor with 24W. But still brighter than stock. And it’s more refined super bright.

    • @toyotabrony
      @toyotabrony 9 днів тому

      @@BoilerDan1 they always said that. Just because it says on the info, doesn’t mean it’s true. Check ur incandescent bulb to see what bulb size u have. If it’s a 7440. It’s a 7440. If it’s 3157 it’s a 3157. Those 54H led amber I mention needs either load equalizer resistor or led flasher relay. Or if u want a plug and play version load equalizer resistor. Look up alla lighting - resistor plug and play version.

    Does this motor come with a title for registration?

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1 21 день тому

      No, it doesn’t have any vin numbers. I’m not sure about your state but here in Indiana the boat is registered, not the motor. You can go through a process to have a vin number assigned, similar to if you built your own trailer (or motor). You’ll have to get forms from your BMV. May not be worth the hassle though….

      Maybe? I’ve hit a hurdle 🙃🥵. I’ve done lots of copper leaf and then aging it using salt and fuming it in an ammonia chamber….. for some unknown reason, it’s not working! I’ve scrubbed off the copper twine now and started all over. Just not working….. So I switched glue…. Still didn’t work 🤬. So I did on a piece of wood and everything worked fine! Must be something about the metal parts in the kit???? I’m now trying 2 coverings of copper! If that doesn’t work, I’ll give up, and try something else 😫

    • @sub04aru
      @sub04aru 26 днів тому

      @@BoilerDan1 yea I’m not sure what the copper issue would be. I’ve copper leafed but never aged it in that way but instead used Brass Black look. It ages it with more of a darker used stain look rather than the corrosion look. I’m sure you’ll figure something out. I wonder if it’s pewter vs some other metal type.

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1 26 днів тому

The good news is, just go on eBay and search “solid walnut wood strips” and you’ll find plenty. Here’s a link to a sample: www.ebay.com/itm/204802108735?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=geNBi6sWTeW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=s8A53jWuRTC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY You’ll need to decide on what size and how many…… but a package of 50 is a good choice. Great to have you aboard! I try to be creative beyond what the kits provide. Today, I'm in the process of trying to age most of the metal parts. Using copper leaf, then aging the copper. I will feature it in Part 4. I'm also working on putting together a small jar of dirt complete with Davy Jones heart......(idea from the movie). If it works, I'll send one to anyone donating to my Super Thanks UA-cam fund of which supports my hobby 😂. I'll post details in an upcoming episode if it works out. @joshhouwen5463 I hit a snag….. I have been trying to copper leaf all the metal parts…..😫 For some reason, the copper won’t get any patina look when I complete the process that I’ve done with several other projects….. Three times I have cleaned off and repeated the process with failure…. Yesterday I gave up and switched to a different method. It just darkened the copper which is acceptable but not what I was hoping for…. Anyway, once I get the cannons done I’ll be back on track and can move forward….. I found some actual “barnacles” on eBay which will add to the look! I want to load a lot of details on the lower deck while it’s open….. So to answer your question……. I’m not going to put any figures on initially. The 3d printer I have doesn’t produce good quality on small figures. I can always add them later. The ZHL Black Pearl has better quality wood. A lot of walnut for planking. It also has double layer planking on the hull with the outside layer being very thin walnut. I also think the instructions are better on the ZHL with larger blue print type drawings. But I’m still very happy with this ship and I think it will turn out to be something special. One other thing, it’s not as large as the Pearl. About 10 inches shorter.

      Sie sind herzlich willkommen. Nach meiner Pensionierung entdeckte ich meine Faszination für Großsegler und meine Fähigkeit, sie als Hobby zu konstruieren und meinen Verstand und meine Feinmotorik auf dem Laufenden zu halten! Sie werden sehr stolz auf Ihr Schiff sein, wenn es fertig ist..... Aber geben Sie sich viel Zeit, überstürzen Sie es nicht. Planen Sie bis zu einem Jahr ein.... Stellen Sie sich vor, ein ganzes Jahr voller Unterhaltung! Die Investition lohnt sich. Glücklicherweise war der Mädchenname meiner Mutter "Riester" mit starken deutschen Wurzeln. Obwohl ich kein Deutsch spreche, habe ich das Geräusch erkannt.... Dann habe ich es ins Englische übersetzt und konnte Ihnen den genauen Inhalt besorgen. 😂

    Looking really good. I like the shell lamp idea and all the 'foliage' down below. I remember the movie with the sailors being 'part of the ship'; many were part sea creature and walls had coral and such down there. Everything was pretty dark and dreary if I remember right. I always forget to do the holes and lighting stuff early on and make it difficult for myself too.

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1 Місяць тому

      Where I think I messed up on planning for lighting….. I forgot that there’s no closed section below deck….. next time I’ll drill both sides even if I don’t plan on lights! 😂. Once I get the hull planked and see how dark the lowest level is, I might take the airbrush and darken things a bit….. I’ll wait and see on that one. I mounted the shell torches on the hull side beams. They are going to make the ship! I may try to light them in the next segment….. that will probably be in a couple of weeks ( a little side project going on at the same time 😵‍💫. Anyway, thanks for hanging around. Maybe I’ll watch that episode of P.of the C, to refresh my inner pirate 🏴‍☠️ 😂👍

    Hello @BoilerDan1 this is the first ship I ever build and I just wanted to know what tools you used.

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1 Місяць тому

      You can get by just using small cutting tools. Definitely a penknife and small files. But I also put to good use a miniature belt sander. Probably the most difficult part is tapering the masts and yards. I’ve achieved that better with practice and have used files, sandpaper, tried a small lathe too. Recently I’ve perfected it using a full sized belt sander. Most parts of the ship are laser cut so a little sanding for most is good. Enjoy your build. It’s a very satisfying experience! Hope my series helps you on your journey.👍👍

      I was a little concerned in the beginning, but I worked through the materials and was able to formulate a plan that works for me…. Sorry if it was confusing for everyone else 😂. I think you’ll like the torches I’ve been working on. They are really going to make this one special.

    Dan, Your organizational prep is to be commended. Though I will say, It's way over my head. In the end, it only needs to make sense to you. I tend to appreciate the pre-trip, as your able to plan for the future. ( i.e. electrical ) Off to a great start.

      😂😵‍💫 I knew at the time, explain it wasn’t working ….. but thought maybe it would help someone who was stuck trying to figure out where to begin 🤪. Today I hope to finish the lower deck planks. Then I’ll be able to place the torches and pre drill some holes for the wires to go below the deck. Once that’s done I can install the deck pieces, attach the torches, run the wires and then flip the boat upside down and begin connecting wires! GEE, THANKS FOR LETTING ME BLOVIATE! It clarified what my plan is.😂😂😂.

    Great video, my gate is approx 4 feet wide, do I use a 12 or 14 inch spring?

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1 Місяць тому

      Although I’m not an expert….. I measured my gate and it’s 2 inches short of being 5 foot. It’s 42 inches tall. I installed the 14 inch spring and have not had any problems. That being said, the 14 inches is the total length for the entire mechanism. The spring itself is about 11 inches. So I’d go with the 14” version. 👍👍

    • @BoilerDan1
      @BoilerDan1 Місяць тому
